Calm in the Chaos
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10
Chaos is a part of life. At some point in your life, you will be caught up in a chaotic moment. Whether it shows up in unexpected bills, family conflict, heartbreak, health scares, or warfare. (physical or spiritual).
And when it hits, your first instinct is often to react, to panic. But God doesn’t call you to spin with the storm.
He calls you to stand firm inside it.
When Jesus calmed the storm in Mark 4, His disciples were terrified, crying out,
“Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
But Jesus stood up in the storm, spoke peace, and then turned to them and asked:
“Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
The lesson? Sometimes Jesus doesn’t calm the storm around you until He calms the storm within you. God isn’t asking you to have control; He’s asking you to have trust. He wants your posture to be still, confident and rooted.
Three Anchors in the Chaos:
Stillness isn’t weakness — it’s warfare.
Stillness is saying, “God, You fight my battles while I stay grounded in trust.”Peace isn’t found in control — it’s found in surrender.
Real peace begins the moment you stop demanding answers and start trusting God’s presence.Faith sometimes is simply standing.
The most powerful act of faith might be choosing not to panic when everyone else does.Prayer: Calm My Storm Within
Father,
Right now, things feel loud. Uncertain. Out of control.
But You are not shaken. You are not surprised.
You are still God, in the middle of this storm.Help me be still.
Speak peace over my anxious mind.
Root my feet deeper in Your truth.
Let me walk calmly in chaos. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.Final Encouragement:
While the world trembles, choose to stand firm. Not because of who you are but because of Who holds you steady. Be still. Be bold. Be grounded. The God who spoke peace to the storm still speaks peace to you.
